Late Shri . Keshavrao D. Jadhav , fondly known as ' ABBA ' was the founder of the company. Initially, he worked as odd - job - boy in small workshops in Kolhapur . At the age of twenty five the entrepreneur Abba started his small enterprises of gas welding. Abba had no formal education, but nevertheless he was a natural and brilliant technical minded person. His genius and class was demonstrated and confirmed beyond and iota of doubt, when in year 1958 using totally indigenous materials and the machines at his disposed in his small workshop. Late Shri. Keshavrao D. Jadhav ( Abba ) successfully manufactured " FOR THE FIRST TIME IN INDIA " ' The Reversible Plough Under the banner of Popular ! ' Thus Abba and Popular were able to give the Indian Farmers an affordable high - tech agricultural Implement on par with ones made outside in terms of quality and performance ! After this Abba and Popular never looked back . He went on creating and adding newer and newer agricultural Implements which were more suitable and more useful in a variety of soil conditions in India. The founder Shri. Abba Propagated and followed the philosophy and culture of ` Work is worship ' and ` Not to Compromise Quality at any Cost'.
After laying the foundation of the company on a solid footing , Abba handed over the reins of the Company to his son Shri. Diliprao Keshavrao Jadhav .
